On February 24th, more than one hundred professionals from the wine sector gathered at Avgvstvs Forvm to analyze the future of viticulture through artificial intelligence, digitalization, and new technologies.

From February 24th to 26th, the fifth edition of the Wine Innovation Week (WIW) was held, an initiative promoted by INNOVI, the Catalan Wine Cluster, which brings together industry professionals to reflect on the future of wine, technology, and innovation.
In this edition, artificial intelligence, innovation, and new technologies were the central themes of a program that included three thematic days dedicated to viticulture, oenology, and communication.
The first of these sessions, focused on viticulture, took place at our estate, Avgvstvs Forvm, with a large attendance of winegrowers, technicians, and professionals from the wine world.
The day began with registration and an institutional welcome by Eloi Montcada, cluster manager of INNOVI; Joan Gené, director general of INCAVI; and Enric Roca, technical director and winemaker at Avgvstvs Forvm.
Speakers at this Wine Innovation Week 2026 session included representatives from organizations and companies such as UPC, Marrugat Agro, Eudald Massana, Maquinària Vicens, Banc Sabadell, Kubota, Anawin, LabFerrer, Agromillora, and Alma Carraovejas.
During the session, studies and AI tools applied to viticulture were presented, including advanced imaging systems to analyze vineyard conditions, technologies to assess grape ripening, and sensors to monitor soil and water availability.
All these tools help anticipate risks, optimize resources, and enable more precise decision-making—key aspects for the future of viticulture.

One of the highlights of the day was the demonstration of innovative viticulture technologies carried out in the vineyards of Avgvstvs Forvm.
Attendees were able to see drone applications for vineyard treatments, support robots for winegrowers, machinery designed to facilitate fieldwork, and drone-based solutions for more precise treatments.
These demonstrations showed how digitalization and automation are transforming vineyard work, making it more efficient, sustainable, and better adapted to new climate challenges.
The event also included a session dedicated to winery digitalization, which is becoming increasingly important in the wine sector.
This section, led by Miquel Altés from Anawin, featured Enric Roca and Rafel Solé, who explained the digital transformation process being implemented at Avgvstvs Forvm.
For the past couple of years, we have been developing a digital transformation project that will be progressively implemented across all areas of the company in the coming years, with the aim of improving management, traceability, and process efficiency, both in the vineyard and in the winery.

Other presentations during this Wine Innovation Week session addressed topics such as smart water management, physiological analysis of vineyard water status, the application of hyperspectral imaging, and the improvement of plant material through artificial intelligence.
Practical cases of digitalization applied to sustainability were also presented, demonstrating that technology can become a key ally in addressing the current challenges of the wine sector.
The day concluded with a standing lunch in the garden of our Sala Entrevinyes, an emblematic space of the winery surrounded by vineyards.
At Avgvstvs Forvm, we highly value having hosted this professional gathering. The world of viticulture is evolving rapidly, and having access to new technological tools allows us to improve the way we work, optimize resources, and move towards more precise and sustainable viticulture.
Initiatives such as the Wine Innovation Week reinforce the role of innovation and shared knowledge as key drivers of the future of the Catalan wine sector.
