On September 2 we celebrated the 6th edition of the Harvest Festival, a tradition of our winery to be able to enjoy together one of the most important moments of the entire year. Once again, it was filled with visitors, who were able to enjoy various wine tourism and gastronomic activities.
Every year the Harvest Festival marks the beginning of the harvest at Avgvstvs Forvm, and it does so in the best possible way: it shares it with our visitors, who experience, for one day, the opportunity to immerse themselves in a day of picking grapes in a winery. One of the most eagerly awaited events in our wine tourism which, once again this year, sold out all the tickets available.
Más More than thirty people enjoyed the sixth edition of the Harvest Festival at our winery in El Vendrell on 2 September. In spite of the drought that is affecting the viticulture this year all over Catalonia (and despite the rain that, ironically, came during the celebration), the celebration was a perfect opportunity to share the sensations and illusions of the harvest and to complement them with a meal paired, of course, with our Avgvstvs wines from the Penedès.
Como As always, the participants in this wine tourism activity in the Penedès were able to take part in the grape harvest, although a downpour (which was more than welcome in our vineyards) forced us to stop for a while. However, the weather did not affect the development of the day nor did it prevent us from celebrating one of the most awaited moments for everyone: the pressing of the grapes with the feet, thus recovering the traditional technique that the Romans already applied in the lands of the Penedès two thousand years ago. A unique experience that, at Avgvstvs Forvm, we relive every year on the land where the Via Augusta once ran.
This year the Harvest Festival was complemented by a lunch at the Degvsta gastronomic space, where the participants in this very special wine tourism activity were able to taste a sample of the zero-kilometre cuisine developed by chef Jordi Guillem, with a very important role played by Forvm bittersweet vinegars. They were also complemented by a selection of Avgvstvs wines.
Once again, at Avgvstvs Forvm we would like to thank all the people who shared the Harvest Festival with us, especially in a year as complicated as this one, in which the drought has forced us to bring this celebration forward in the calendar. The family atmosphere and the fun we had allowed us to fill ourselves with positive energies that will surely help us a lot during this harvest season and in the process of making our wines and vinegars.
